Lacrosse in Motion Committee is made up of every Box Lacrosse Association in Durham Region. These likeminded individuals have the goal to maintain the present lacrosse players and expose as many new players to a fast paced, energetic and fun game.This group is comprises of representatives from the following: Brooklin Redmen, Brooklin Merchants, Whitby Warriors A’s, the Green Gaels, Clarington C’s, Whitby Warriors C’s, Clarington Minor, Oshawa Minor, Uxbridge Minor, West Durham Minor and Whitby Minor.Lacrosse in Motion will host the “Lacrosse Day in Durham Region” and over the course of the next few months the group will work together to “grow the game” using collective resources..

On June 17th, 2017, Iroquois Park will be opening their doors to celebrate the 150th Anniversary celebration of Canada’s national summer sport of lacrosse!  As Durham Region is one of the cornerstones of the sport, Lacrosse in Motion would like to invite you to be a part of the 150th Anniversary festivities.

 

The “Lacrosse in Motion” group comprises 11 Durham Region based not-for-profit lacrosse clubs. The goal of the Lacrosse in Motion group is to promote the sport of lacrosse to all citizens within Durham Region whether presently involved or not. The 150th Anniversary event will be promoted through various channels: the local lacrosse community, schools, the clubs and social media.

Lacrosse Day in Durham Event will be filling four indoor arenas and one outdoor field with athletes from Durham Region and their families participating in over 20 hours of games ranging from Tyke (5-6 age) to Intermediate (17-21 age). Boys and girls will be participating from Clarington; Oshawa; Uxbridge; West Durham and Whitby Minor Clubs. As a tribute to this great part of our Canadian Heritage, Lacrosse in Motion will be offering to all attending, 5 Junior to Senior games for FREE!!!  Brooklin Redmen Sr A, Brooklin Merchants Sr B, Whitby Warriors Jr A, Green Gaels Jr B, and Whitby Warriors Jr C will all be in action.  The average gate fee would be over $40.00 to attend all 5 games normally.  We expect well over 2, 000 people to walk through the doors.

 

To offer admission to this event free, we are seeking sponsorship from local companies.  Included are some of the various sponsorship packages available. Each package can be customized to fit your needs.  We would be pleased to discuss with you at your convenience.

                           

Midget Showcase

 

Player Requirements

 

All Midget players from every Minor Lacrosse Associations in Durham Region have the

opportunity to participate in the Midget Showcase as part of the Lacrosse Day in Durham

Festival

 Registration deadline for Clarington, Oshawa, Uxbridge and West Durham is June 1st, 2017

 Registration opens for all other Zone 6 Midget Players on May 22nd, 2017

 All players must be fully carded for box lacrosse with the OLA and have the approval of their

home club to participate in the Midget Showcase

 

Assigning Team Rosters

 Teams will be balanced for competition, using the Zone 6 format that combines all clubs and

levels

 The players will be drafted on a first-registered basis to the respective teams by following the

following criteria:

 Right vs Left Shot

 Forward vs Defense vs Transition vs Goalie

 Once each team has reached its capacity for each position, no further registrations will be

accepted. The website will announce full positions.

 

Payment Instructions

Complete and print a hard copy of the registration document found on the website

Registration fee of $25 for players, $10 for goalies (cash or cheque – to Lacrosse in Motion) must

be received to guarantee a spot in the Midget Showcase.

NSF cheques will be charged a $25 administration fee.
